We visited Boubou B&B in November 2019 with our niece and her husband and stayed for 2 nights. We arrived mid-afternoon and were warmly welcomed and shown to our beautiful, very clean and well laid out double rooms. Toiletries are provided in the en-suite bathrooms. After unpacking we made ourselves at home in the Lapa and enjoyed a drink, which we had taken with us, although there are drinks available to purchase. Sitting on the Lapa listening to and watching the birds making their nests and the sound of wild animals in the distance, very peaceful and relaxing. There is a lovely swimming pool if you need to cool down. The dining area is very inviting and gives plenty of space for a party of about 8 diners or separate tables if couples want to be more private or romantic. There was a power cut whilst we were there, but lamps were provided which added to the warm evening atmosphere. We had taken our own meat, and salad, to cook ourselves a braai on our first evening and everything we needed to do this was provided.

The following day we visited Sun City which is only about 45 minutes’ drive away. We went for the Nedbank golf but there are plenty of things to do there all year round.

Our second night we had dinner cooked for us by the owners. This was our second time of staying at Boubou Bed and Breakfast and the evening meal was, once again, very tasty and plentiful, to be recommended. Breakfasts were traditional South African using lots of local produce.

We love our time at Boubou B&B and wish we could visit more often and for longer but being on holiday from England we need to see and visit as many other places as we can of this beautiful country. I’m sure anyone wanting an out of the way, relaxing place to stay will not be disappointed with Boubou B&B.
